چکیده

A comparison of the livetin of egg yolk and serum globulin of the common fowl using (a) anaphylactic and (b) precipitin reactions, indicates that the two proteins are very closely related, if not identical. The complement fixation test does not give the same result but indicates a difference between the two proteins. The complement fixation test also shows differences between serum euglobulin and serum pseudoglobulin when these proteins, prepared with considerable care, cannot be distinguished either by anaphylactic or precipitin tests.

On the fractionation of the proteins of egg yolk.

For many years the senior author has attempted to fractionate the yolk proteins of the Atlantic salmon with each annual laying season, but without conspicuous success. The newer electrophoretic technique has now provided us with a better criterion of the success of our methods as applied to the egg yolk of the hen as well as of the salmon (1). The general subject has been reviewed by Needham (2...

Safety and feasibility of heated egg yolk challenge for children with egg allergies.

BACKGROUND Hen's egg allergy is a frequent cause of childhood food allergy. Egg yolk is used in various commonly consumed foods; if children with allergy to hen's egg could eat heated egg yolk, their quality of life (QOL) would improve. No reports exist regarding oral food challenges (OFCs) for heated egg yolk. We aimed to clarify whether pediatric patients allergic to hen's egg could consume h...

Immunochemical analysis of the water-soluble fraction of the chick embryo yolk.

By means of immunochemical techniques, the protein components of the water-soluble fraction (WSF) of the egg yolk have been examined in the unincubated egg and during incubation. Anti-ovalbumin and anti-total adult chicken serum antisera have been employed. Ovalbumin can be detected in the unincubated WSF as well as during incubation; its concentration seems to increase during incubation. In th...

Proteins and Lipoproteins in Yolk from Eggs of the Estuarine Crocodile (crocodylus Porosus); a Comparison with Egg Yolk of The

1. The livetin patterns of the two species Crocodylus porosus and Gallus domesticus were very different and it was difficult to find a correspondence. 2. In C. porosus the granules were a larger proportion of the total yolk but they contained very little lowdensity lipoprotein when compared with granules from hens' eggs. 3. The low-density lipoprotein was a lower proportion of the yolk of C. po...
